Experimental Archaeology—replication studies, mechanical properties of raw materials, function-related selective processes; comparative functional efficiency 

Archaeometallurgy—North American Old Copper Culture – replication and experimental research; Neo-Assyrian Bronze-Iron Age transition; Copper and Bronze forging, casting, smelting and alloying processes

Ceramic Analysis—thin section petrography, temper and paste characterization, XRD, pottery production processes and change over time

Cultural Evolution—hypothesis driven research to better understand variation in the production process, factors influencing selection of variants, technological innovation, social learning and transmission of ideas

Human behavior related to resource exploitation, manufacturing processes, and change in production techniques and technological systems over time
